Chakras

The Root Chakra (Muladhara) is located at the base of the spine with the colour red being associated with it. This chakra represents the base of our energetic body with LAM as the mantra. It relates to grounding and is associated with the earth element. Security, survival and safety are the emotional characteristics associated with the Root Chakra.

The Sacral Chakra (Svadhishthana) is located just below the naval with the colour orange being associated with it. This chakra represents connection and acceptance to others and new experiences with VAM as the mantra. It relates to sexuality and pleasure and is associated with the water element. Sense of abundance and wellbeing are the emotional characteristics associated with the Sacral Chakra.

The Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) is located above the stomach with the colour yellow being associated with it. This chakra represents control in one’s life with RAM as the mantra. It relates to self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence and is associated with the fire element. Sense of control is the emotional characteristic associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra.

The Heart Chakra (Anahata) is located above the heart with the colour green being associated with it. This chakra represents pure love with YAM as the mantra. It relates to joy, passion, trust and love and is associated with the air element. Empathy, compassion and love are the emotional characteristics associated with the Heart Chakra.

The Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) is located at the throat with the colour blue being associated with it. This chakra represents communication with HAM as the mantra. It relates to speaking the truth and is associated with the ether element. Self-expression, communication and truth are the emotional characteristics associated with the Throat Chakra.

The Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) is located between the eyebrows with the colour indigo being associated with it. This chakra represents wisdom and inner knowledge with OM as the mantra. It relates to intuition and is associated with the light element. Insight and gain of unseen/unheard wisdom are the emotional characteristics associated with the Third Eye Chakra.

The Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) is located at the crown with the colour violet being associated with it. This chakra represents divine energy with AUM as the mantra. It relates to balance between mind, body and spirit and is associated with the cosmic element. Pure bliss is the emotional characteristic associated with the Crown Chakra.
